Mobile Spectrum Makes Strategic Acquisition and Enters GIS Space

Mobile Spectrum, a leader in providing mobile data collection applications, has successfully acquired the Metaphor web GIS Software Platform from systems integrator Infiniti Systems Group. The acquisition is part of Mobile Spectrum’s initiative to become the leader in geospatial data collection systems. Metaphor is a GIS driven intelligent visualization application that can be integrated with any RDBMS providing a ‘map based’ view of an organizations macro and micro infrastructure to standardize, expedite, analyze and simplify access to data. Information in municipal mapping applications can be accessed in a variety of ways including customized reports, queries and tabular interfaces with real-time linking to spatial features.

Since 2003, through its Mobile Inspector software, Mobile Spectrum has delivered enterprise class mobile solutions to customers across the globe, ranging from government agencies and multinational corporations to small and medium sized enterprises across a number of markets.

The m-Inspector product is an advanced mobile data collection solution that users can fill-out forms with preset responses on a PDA, Tablet PC or other mobile devices. The data from the completed forms can then be uploaded to a server in real-time so that it can be immediately analyzed. Based on wireless capability, information can be uploaded and synchronized on-the-spot. By instantly transmitting information back to the database this solution provides a cost effective way to increase productivity and communication.
